We all hear that Content is King but what type of content should you be using? And Where?
Many Entrepreneurs know that a strong social media presence pays off but where is the best for what type of media? With the advent of video, live video, slide shows, images, and the written word how do you combine all of these formats for the biggest bang for your buck?
Many people know that Facebook and Instagram are wonderful for driving traffic and getting your brand in front of people but how to do you make the most of your time and money? Facebook is great at allowing you to write and share all content. It is being used a lot for video, image, and text. Many small businesses are utilizing video and live video features of Facebook to drive traffic and reach new customers. Facebook was the most popular social media platform for years but it is losing its appeal to the younger population. It is still incredibly useful as a tool to market your small business and does provide you a ton of useful information about your reach and when your audience is seeing your brand. It also allows you to start a group to be able to connect closer with your customers.
Instagram is more for images and videos than Facebook is and there is less emphasis placed on the text attached to the images than the images themselves. It would great for showcasing new arrivals in products, or new services being offered, even photos of team members. There are a variety of ways that you can leverage Instagram as a platform to increase your brand recognition.
Pinterest is also a great resource for driving clients to your business. It can be pinning blog articles about how to care for your products, pins of bundles for cloths, images of products and any other content you could think of! It is a great way to lead people to your website and increase your brand reach.
There are a variety of newer social media platforms out there that are starting to gain traction in the small business world. These include Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Each of these has its own uses and benefits. I tend to focus on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest when I am working on social media management for my clients.
I also include Google My business management in my social media management. This allows you to ensure that you are being seen on Google when people search for businesses like yours in your town. Many people use google search to find something they are looking for. This can be a shop that carries certain types of equipment, or a service provider. So, having a Google My Business Listing is important, but this can also be managed by including photos and offers. It is a fact that listings that include photos and offers will get attention faster than listings that do not include any extras.
It seems that in this day and age, blogs and email marketing has become a huge portion of marketing your business to your clients. It makes sense to focus on your existing clients. And, using word of mouth as advertising is a wonderful thing, but it can take some time to get things rolling. Also, with social media management, you can increase the reviews of your business. The majority of people will take reviews of a business into consideration before becoming customers themselves.
